Mr. Pelton joined Pryon early in 2019 and is responsible for all aspects of the product portfolio and cloud service offerings. Pryon is an early stage Artificial Intelligence company with a unique value proposition for enterprise employees and a world-class technology team.
He comes to Pryon from Avaya where he was Vice President, Collaboration and Devices and managed a portfolio of voice and video endpoints, soft clients and collaboration services. His global product management and engineering team delivered $400M of product revenue and shipped 3 million phones annually. In this role, he championed the revitalization and expansion of Avaya’s endpoint portfolio and entry into new markets like “Open SIP” devices for UC as a Service providers and a new class of video conferencing products.
Prior to joining Avaya, Greg was Chief Technology Officer and Vice President Infrastructure Engineering for Polycom. At Polycom he led the corporate innovation function, was responsible for core audio and video technologies, as well as all video conferencing infrastructure products. This includes Polycom’s video interop service for Microsoft Skype for Business, and development of a cloud device management service. Before Polycom, Mr. Pelton spent time as CTO of Avaya’s Federal Government business unit, and held senior positions at Cisco Systems, leading the company into new markets like IP telephony, wireless, mobility, datacenter, IP television and satellite networks. Mr. Pelton began his career at Nortel Networks designing service provide telecom products.
Greg holds 39 patents and has worked extensively with organizations promoting innovation and venture backed technology companies. He lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, with his wife and family. He has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.
